Archimède Consultants has been active in the fields of business consulting and strategic analysis for some twenty years.

The firm began its activity by advising major companies on their corporate communications strategy and assisting them in their lobbying of national and European public institutions.

For more than ten years, Archimède Consultants has been active on the international stage, mainly supporting governments in negotiations and monitoring relations between governments and the Bretton Woods institutions.

Founded in 2003 by Philippe Valachs, Archimède Consultants is a French company (SAS) headquartered in Paris. The company is still managed by its founder.

Living in Paris, Philippe Valachs is European by conviction and an economist by training (Université de Paris-X-Nanterre, France; University of Madison, Wisconsin, USA).

He began his career in international consulting before joining the cabinet of Dominique Strauss-Kahn, then French Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, in 1991.

Between 1993 and 1999, Philippe Valachs worked for Compagnie Générale des Eaux (now Vivendi Group), and in 1996 was appointed Chief of Staff to the Group’s Chairman, Jean-Marie Messier.

He left the group in 1999 to take part in the creation and development of CanalWeb.net, Europe’s leading Internet TV operator.

From 2004 to 2011, in addition to his professional consulting activities, he served as a consular judge at the Paris Commercial Court.

During this same period, he was a lecturer for the industrial economics seminar organized by the École Supérieure des Mines de Paris and a member of the jury for the Master HEC Entrepreneurs at the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Paris.

From 2011 to 2015, Cellectis, a pioneering company in the field of genetic modification, secured the services of Philippe Valachs as Corporate Secretary.
